Welcome to Lee Valley Dive Club

We are a typical dive club, undertaking a range of UK and overseas diving. Our dive trips range from regular excursions along the English south coast to the Red Sea, Maldives and beyond.

We offer training to new beginners and existing divers, including safe diving practices, diving first aid and seamanship and boat related training. We are fortunate to have our own dive boat , which gives us a massive amount of flexibility to do exactly the type of diving we want! We also have a cupboard of excellent dive equipment for courses and training.

We have around 50 members, who interests include conservation, wildlife, wreck diving, marine history and a few keen photographers. Members include advanced divers, specialists and advanced instructors. The club framework allows members to pursue the diving that interests them and share that experience with others.

Book a Try Dive

If you have always wanted to learn to dive or are simply curious about scuba diving, then a Try Dive with Lee Valley Dive Club is the perfect introduction!

In the safe confines of the Laura Trott Leisure Centre pool, a BSAC Instructor will introduce you to the basic skills and equipment needed to experience the thrill of breathing underwater for the very first time. Try Dives cost £20.

A typical Try Dive session lasts about 45 minutes. It involves poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment, followed by a scuba dive in our pool with a BSAC-qualified instructor. Please note, minimum age is 12 years old.

What our members say...

The benefit of training with our club is that you can learn at your own pace ensuring you are comfortable under the water.

AB

I really enjoy the first dive of the season; falling backwards from our RIB, sinking in a cloud of bubbles and popping to the surface feeling exhilarated because I'm about to go diving again.

AB

Very difficult to choose my best UK dive with the club; but I love diving the Bay Gitano because it never disappoints.  Swimming on a wreck among shoals of Bib, Pouting and Whiting is awesome.

AB

Trust is important when you are scuba diving and it is so reassuring to know that you can rely on your club mates completely

GB

Can’t swim? No problem. With diving all you need to do is sink

SR

The best thing about the club is the patience of the instructors who did not give up on me as I struggled through my training.

DC

Joining Lee Valley Divers has given me over two decades of fun, friends and adventure.

RC

After qualifying, I had a readymade network of dive buddies within the club

CN

I never get bored of our annual trip to the Baygitano! Warm seas, great visibility and always a surprising amount of sea life

CN

The Liveaboard trips to Egypt are great fun and fantastic diving, but I really enjoy the week trips in the UK.  I have fond memories of the Ardtornish, Mylor and Trebetherwick holidays where we self-cater, and I especially enjoy the camaraderie and the evening meal competitions (and the diving too)
